Large, vibrant painting of a cloud-filled sky reflected in marshland. This painting has a deeply receding horizon line that creates a great sense of depth in the work.
Artist's statement: The marshland teams with an abundance of life so beautiful and fragile it awakens a deep sense of belonging to the Earth. In this piece, I use texture and color to evoke a bright, hopeful day full of potential. The emphasis on water and the reflection of the sky creates a meditative moment for daydreaming.
AWARD WINNER: “most thought provoking” in 2020 Franklin Park Art Center exhibit. Mixed media includes encaustic, oils, pastels, pigmented shellac, and wax pencil. Encaustic on wood panel unframed. Image wraps around the edges.
